Blueberry Hill

Sept. 26th, 1956  Fats Domino’s version of “Blueberry Hill” enters the Billboard Pop chart where it will reach number two.

The song had been written in 1940 and was recorded by several artists including The Glenn Miller Orchestra who took it to #2 in 1941.

From 1955 to 1968 he would place 64 singles on Billboard’s Pop chart. “Blueberry Hill” being the biggest peaking at No. 2 on this chart. He would never have a No. 1 single on this chart.

Now on Billboard’s R & B charts, Fats was having hit records from 1950- 1964 charting 63 hit singles. Nine of his record would go to No. 1 on this chart. Both “Ain’t That A Shame” & “Blueberry Hill” would peak at No. 1 on this chart for eleven weeks each.
